PEACEPLUS Projects

NWTEC partners are involved in a number of funded PEACEPLUS projects.  PEACEPLUS is a cross-border funding Programme supported by the European Union, the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Government of Ireland, and the Northern Ireland administration.

Other notable PEACEPLUS projects involving NWTEC partners include:

NW DEPTH (North West Digital Employment Pathways Training Hub) project €9.9m will be led by ATU in partnership with Ulster University, NWRC and DETB. The project will establish and deliver a portfolio of upskilling programmes to the existing digital workforce. This includes ensuring 1,000 people advance up one level in the qualification framework and establishing and delivering reskilling programmes in digital and cybersecurity to another 1,000 people

GRASP (Green Accelerator Skills Programme) project €9.8m will be led by SWC in partnership with ATU, Donegal ETB and NWRC.  The project will include two Green Skills Academies which will promote green apprenticeships and develop and deliver a residential carbon literacy programme.

STRIDE (Smart Rural Innovation Driven Empowerment) project €3.5m will be led by SWC in partnership with ATU, UU & other partners. The project seeks to deliver and implement one jointly developed solution in supporting rural communities to use ICT.

PEACETIME (Development of a specialist obesity management service for adults with type 2 diabetes in primary care and the community in the North West) project €10m will be led by UU in partnership with ATU & other partners. The project will see the development of a specialist obesity management service for adults with Type 2 diabetes in primary care and the community in the Northwest.

iMPROVE (Innovation in person-centred Medication Prescribing and Review for Optimal Value and Efficacy) project €10m led by UU in partnership with ATU & other partners.  The project will implement care pathways to optimise the prescribing of medications, improve community accessibility needs and reduce the burden on primary care.

S2@25 (Capturing and Transferring the knowledge of the Strand 2 implementation bodies for improved cooperation and cooperation governance) project €408,000 led by the Centre for Cross Border Cooperation in partnership with ATU.  The project will record the collective impacts of the North South Implementation Bodies and use the learning from that process to improve strategic cross border cooperation in the future.
