Smart Industry Board

An important initiative of NWTEC was the establishment in February 2021 of the Smart Industry Board (SIB) to give a strong voice to industry in the region. SIB complements the work of existing regional groups including Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Education and Skills Delivery Partnership and the three working groups under the skills partnership: Digital & Creative Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering, and Hospitality & Tourism. SIB is a high-level strategic board to support NWTEC achieve its strategic objectives and it has adopted terms of reference aligned with these targets. Members of SIB are drawn from the education partners, local authorities, skills agencies, and individuals who play a representative role for enterprises across the region’s key enterprise areas.
