Notes Our BSc Honours in Animal Behaviour and Welfare is a one year add on level 8 programme which has been designed to act as a progression route if you’ve successfully completed the level 7 BSc in Veterinary Nursing programme at LYIT, or a suitable alternate level 7 in another Higher Education Institution. Having completed this course in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, you will be well placed to recognise a vulnerable animal, and educate the owner about how to best pre-empt these responses from developing into a behaviour and welfare problem. The BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare will allow you to obtain a BSc Honours in a relevant discipline while additionally increasing your skillset and ultimately enhancing your career opportunities. Notes This Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Animation is a one-year add-on Level 8 programme designed to allow you to specialise in your chosen area of animation production. This year is designed to allow you to gain both industry knowledge and experience while allowing you the time and space needed to hone your craft and produce your own animated film, showcase or tv series idea. While you are developing your personal animation production, you will undertake a number of industry projects which will run alongside. These projects will include group projects as well as individual live project briefs from Animation companies such as DogEars, Cartoon Saloon and Kavaleer films. The dissertation enables you to research in depth an area of animation that particularly interests you. The Innovation & Creativity module aims to afford you a working knowledge of the business side of animation; the role of the producer in getting ideas and projects off the ground as well as an awareness of the selling/ pitching/ funding platforms in Ireland, UK and Europe. You will also develop an online portfolio and showreel during the programme.

Notes The Bachelor of (Honours) Science in Bioanalytical Science is designed to build on the knowledge gained by students in the Level 7 BSc in Bioscience and BSc in Analytical and Forensic Science, or its equivalents. It may be completed in one academic year (two semesters) or on a part-time basis. The programme provides a clear knowledge of the underlying concepts behind modern bioanalytical techniques and the application of these techniques in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and related industries and in environmental analysis. You’ll gain technical competence in analytical biochemical, genetic, immunological and microbiologically-based analytical methodologies and the skills and knowledge required to work in the biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries as well as in state scientific agencies. The programme covers areas such as Molecular Biology, Analytical Science, Biopharmaceutical Processes and Protein Chemistry. Other modules include Management Theory and Practice and Research Project Design. On completion of this programme you will have specific knowledge and understanding of specific theories, concepts and principles in biopharmaceutical processes, industrial microbiology, molecular biology and analytical science.
